Dr. Salman Saeed Akhtar

 

Chairman
Physician, Intensivist & Philanthropist

 

Dr Salman Saeed Akhtar is a professional doctor, social worker, philanthropist, and a human rights activist. He was a Ravian in 1983-1985 before going to Allama Iqbal Medical College for MBBS in 1985-91. As a student activist he participated in academic, extracurricular and political activities. As a young doctor he strived with his fellows in resolving issues of young doctors, such as stipend, seat allocation and job security issues with provincial government around 1991. He has been involved in patients’ welfare and humanitarian services including Free Medical Camps in disasters and floods, Charity Blood Banks and Medical Labs etc.

Dr Salman is an International Associate member of American College of Cardiology from Maryland, USA. For the past 18 years, he is working as Physician, In-charge of Cardiac & Critical Care Intensive Unit, In-charge Medical Intensive Care Unit and Infection Control Unit at Doctors Hospital, Lahore.

Dr Salman is running a Medical Clinic to provide health care to the community of Sheikhupura. He is also working with Al-Khidmat Foundation as a Medical Director Punjab for the past 8 years. Being a human rights activist, he is working as Vice Chairman Insani Haqooq Forum – a registered local forum in Sheikhupura.

Through his own established NGO, Future Vision Foundation CCB, he also provides Community Services and Medical Camps. As a philanthropist, Dr Salman has established a Primary School with the name of Al-School, for deserving communities in Sheikhupura, which is in working since 2011.

Major achievements of Dr Salman include his active participation in legal fight against the Elite Private Schools, where he defended rights of Parents and Students since 2017, and won the case in Supreme Court in June 2019 which capped the fee of elite private schools.

Dr. Amir Jamal

 

Social Development Expert

 

Dr. Aamir Jamal is Associate Professor of International Social Development and Social Policy at the University of Calgary in Canada. With a unique background that combines a PhD in International Social Development from the University of Calgary, an MBA from Adelphi University, New York, and several years of experience in social policy and community development in both local and international settings.

Dr. Jamal’s work has been published in prestigious international scholarly journals and presented at various academic conferences and community events across the globe. His research emerges from a strong social justice perspective and has focused primarily on three areas: engaging men in gender justice; the effectiveness of International Nongovernmental organizations (INGOs) in the development sector; and Muslim youth, identity crisis, and global conflicts.

Dr. Jamal founded and led several educational and humanitarian assistance programs. He also provides training and consultancy in the areas of qualitative research design and qualitative approaches to program evaluation. He continues to serve as an invited expert for a number of Canadian and international organizations, government bodies, and parliamentary committees

Further, Dr. Jamal has received several awards for both his research and work for human rights and social justice including the Izaak Killam Doctoral Award, Nickola Goddard Research Award, the International Research Award by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Recognition of Excellence – Social Action Award from the University of Calgary, Canada

Naseem Zafar Iqbal

 

Leadership Development Consultant

 

Naseem Zafar Iqbal is a leading Executive Coach and Leadership Development Consultant. C-Suite executives, leadership teams and organizations from public, private, and social sectors have benefited from his interventions. He is currently President and CEO of Training Impact Limited, Founding President of Experiential Education Pakistan representing Pakistan at Experiential Educators Europe, and a Founding Board member at Envision Pakistan Foundation. He facilitated, as a Founding Chairman of the Board of Youth Impact, in engaging 30,000 plus youth, optimizing their potential for ethical leadership and responsible citizenship.

Naseem is recognized in the corporate sector for his unique methodology of developing leadership behaviors through his wilderness-based flagship program. His 7 Dimensions Leadership Model provides theoretical framework for his interventions.

His passion for success through team work and collaboration has also resulted into the formulation of Association of Management Development Institutions in Pakistan – a SAARC Body, of which he is the founder national coordinator and a co-architect of the AMDIP Constitution.

On academic side, he headed Faculty of Management Sciences at University of Management and Technology (then ILM). He has taught management courses at Pak-AIMS, ILM, Punjab University Institute of Administrative Sciences, Imperial College and Superior university.

An MBA from UMASS, Boston, and Masters in Public Administration, along with several international courses of leadership on credit, Naseem has a unique blend of corporate, academic, management training, river rafting, rock climbing and expedition leadership experience spread over 38 years. This includes 18 years of hands-on experience in sales and HRM.

Muhammad Waqas Khan

 

Educationist, Writer & Legislator

 

Muhammad Waqas Khan is a politician, writer, educationist, and public policy expert. He has done his Masters in Political Science and MS in Public Policy. Currently, He is the Executive Director of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet, Turkish Standard Schools and Lalarukh Schools. Muhammad Waqas Khan has been involved in social, political and non-profit work as well. He has been working as the president of the Society for Academic Learning and Motivation.

Khan has an experience of more than 25 years in educational leadership.  He has been a Member of Punjab Assembly. Muhammad Waqas Khan has authored many books including Al-Rooh wa Al-Rayyan, Seerat-e-Tayybah, Islami Falahi Riyasat, Sallu Eleh Wa Aaleh, Riyaz-ul-Anwaar, Qaadyan ki Khana Saaz Nabuwat, Rehlat-al-Taqwa.

Dr. Saima Esma

 

Writer & Researcher

 

Dr. Saima Esma is a Media and Communication Studies academic, and a freelance writer whose focus of work is on gender and media, media and culture, women rights, and globalization and its impact. Her doctoral thesis titled “Advertising and Cultural Glocalization” explored the intersection between advertising and culture and assessed the impact of global companies’ advertising on Pakistan’s changing cultural values. She explored the status of media usage among female religious groups in the country for her MPhil dissertation. Her recent research project focuses on new trends in the landscape of feminist activism in Pakistan. Having 25 years’ experience in social sector with a variety of organizations, she has been a part of philanthropic, welfare, and advocacy projects for youth, women and children.
As a literary figure, Saima is a published poet with a critically acclaimed book on her credit, and editor of a monthly Urdu magazine aiming to serve Urdu literature through original and creative pieces of writing in all genres. She contributes to different dailies with her journalistic columns on political analyses and social issues. She is one of the founding Directors at Youth Impact, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the capacity building of our youth.

As a proponent of women’s equitable status in society, Saima analyzes the relationship between religion, culture, and human rights in the context of social realities about women in Pakistan. In addition to participating in the CSW 59th session Beijing+20 at NYC as country delegate, she has presented her research at international conferences and has been published in international journals. During her Ph.D. research she joined the Centre for Culture and Media Policy Studies at University of Warwick, UK. She is currently working as visiting faculty member of Media and Communication Studies in universities.

Muhammad Khaleeq

Muhammad Khaleeq is a researcher, activist and an expert of Operations Management, HR Management, Corporate Communications, Market Research, Strategic Planning, and Industrial Customer Services.
Khaleeq has done his MBA from Athabasca University, Canada. Currently, he is working as an Advisor for Meezab Group (Travel & Tourism) and SIGAL Group (Real Estate).
Over the last three decades, Khaleeq has been representing global & regional conglomerates and start-ups in the Gulf Region and Pakistan. He held management positions in operations, human resources, market research, corporate & marketing communications, strategic planning, business development, and industrial services in a highly competitive, challenging, and diverse environment.
Khaleeq has a great experience of managing start-ups, turnarounds, mega projects, running businesses, mergers & acquisitions. Khaleeq has given his services in the following fields: Education & Publishing, Telecommunications, Healthcare & Health Insurance, Industrial Automation, Power Generation & Distribution, Airport Logistics, Real Estate Development, and Travel & Tourism.
Besides providing consultancy services to manufacturing and services industries, Khaleeq has been advising mid-size NGOs active in the fields of Education, Relief, and Community Development.
He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Leading Edge Academic Network (LEAN) that has launched an international school franchise in Pakistan.
Khaleeq has served as HR Advisor at Ministry of Health, Qatar, HR Director EMAAR, Saudi Arabia, Head Industrial Automation Services at Siemens, United Arab Emirates.
As a social worker, Khaleeq has been involved in READ Foundation (Educational NGO) as BOD Member and Chair HR Committee, in Character Education Foundation as Director, in Pak Helpline (NGO) as Volunteer, in Positive Pakistan and Youth Empowerment Society (Youth NGOs) as Advisor and many more.

Faiqa Salman

 

Educationist & Social Activist

 

Faiqa Salman is an MBA in Human Resources & professionally an educationist. She started her career as a primary school teacher in 2001 and got her diploma in Early Years Education.

With the help of her husband she opened a primary school for deserving children in Sheikhupra in 2011 which is still running.

She has teaching experience private schools and also in her own school that is for the deserving children. She counts this stark comparison as one of her valuable life experiences which she hopes to use for the betterment of education of this country.

Faiqa is also an activist for the rights of the parents and has played a very active role in the legal battle against the very high fees of elite private schools.

She was also a representative of the parents in the working committee formed by the government on the formation of parent councils in private schools.

Faiqa Salman is a highly opinionated lady; she also talks about social issues in TV programs and on social media platforms as well. Faiqa is also a freelance writer and has written on several issues including politics, education, and human rights.

Dr. Mohsin Zahid

Faiq Sadiq

 

Financial Industry Expert

 

Faiq Sadiq has 25 years’ plus global experience as a financial industry expert in three global regions i.e. USA, Pakistan and East Africa during his career. At HBL he worked as Chief Internal Auditor, Group Head Payment Services and Country Manager USA, besides other assignments. He was on the Board of Directors of 1LINK and NIFT, and Forum of African Women Educationists – FAWE.
His last assignment in Pakistan (April 2021 – April 2022), was as Coordinator, Economic Advisory Council (EAC) chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, directly with Federal Finance Minister, Mr. Shaukat Tarin on EAC and various other key initiatives like Kamyab Pakistan Program, National Price Monitoring Committee, reforms in FBR etc.
Currently, he works as an independent consultant based out of NY USA, on digital financial services & innovation strategy, focusing on financial inclusion, innovative products and project management in developing and emerging economies.
Faiq played a key role in bringing innovation and digitization to the financial sector in Pakistan.
Faiq is a well-known respected and inspiring speaker who engages with the youth and is a passionate transformation guru. He is highly results driven and a go-getter. This combined with his experience and expertise in the financial sector will provide great impetus at EPF

Khobaib Ahmed Vahedy

 

Entrepreneur & Philanthropist

 

Khobaib A. Vahedy is Group Head vMulti, with multiple portfolios of Businesses including Tourism, Business Automation & Logistics Solutions, Consultant & Trainer and Coach, he is Co- Founder American Quest, above all passionate mountaineer and nature lover.
Prior to their current roles and responsibilities, he has served as Country Director of Muslim Aid UK for more than 12 years and served across Pakistan 🇵🇰. in the Humanitarian sector, he has also served as Regional Director Muslim Aid in Middle East, for the Syrian Refugees humanitarian services in Turkey, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon.
He has served as HR Head at University of Management and Technology at Lahore for 11 years to develop and groom the teams of all levels in the institution. Syed Suleman Hasan is the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Company Secretary at 1LINK. Leader in the payments industry,
he has 20 years of experience as a GRC and technology expert with companies like Ernst & Young (EY) and PwC. Suleman did his bachelor’s degree from FAST, and holds CISA and CRISC (ISACA-USA) and Digital Payments certifications from Fletcher School of Law – Tufts University (USA).

Suleman is solution-oriented and has advised executive management and Boards on strategic initiatives as a management consultant in the Middle East and Pakistan. His GRC strengths, business acumen, and advisory practice are well acknowledged.

Abida Farheen

She is a social activist, specifically working in the domain of young women’s education and women’s issues. A research scholar in media sciences, she is a freelance writer focusing on women’s portrayal in media and women’s accreditation. She is also the founding president of the Society for Educational Welfare (a literacy program across the country) and system developer of Al-Mohsanat Trust(a chain of education system for girls).

Kiran Mansoor is a Social Entrepreneur with a passion for financial inclusion and women empowerment. She worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the Institute of Business Administration in the year 2006. She also worked as a Credit Analyst at UBL Bank (2003-2005). Kiran did her Masters from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) (2003). She also did her DAIBP from the Institute of Bankers Pakistan with First position at the National Level (2005).
